About

The mission of the South Row PTO is to bring together parents, teachers, and administrators to enhance the quality of the educational and social experience for all children at South Row.

Who is the South Row PTO?

As a South Row staffer or parent/guardian of a South Row student, you are automatically a member of the PTO. The success of the PTO is dependent upon our staff and families' donation of time, items, and funding as we are a non-profit organization. By donating your time (volunteering), you have the opportunity to interact with staff & students, form connections with other South Row community members, and accomplish things that truly make a difference. As volunteers ourselves, the PTO board DEEPLY appreciates our staff & parent volunteers! We understand that for many, funds are tight & time is limited- we are truly grateful for whatever support you can offer.

What does the PTO do?

We raise funds to support enrichment activities as well as maintaining the playground and providing play equipment, staff appreciation, and fun events for our school community.

What are enrichment activities?

Enrichments are activities that supplement the curriculum, usually in the form of professional programs run by outside organizations like museums. Some activities we have provided in the past include:

o   Author visits

o   Museum of Science

o   Acton Discovery Museum

o   Bees, Ocean animals, Bugs

o   Historical figure impersonators

o   Learning through music

o   Yoga mindfulness

How does it work?

Monthly meetings are a place for parents, caregivers, school staff, and administrators to come together. These are led by the PTO Board members. Covered topics include updates from school staff, school committee reports, event & activity planning, budget, etc. If you can't make a meeting, you can still catch up by reading the weekly PTO Corner of the Homelink email, using our website, or checking our monthly meeting minutes posted on our meetings page.
